Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

The company we work for successfully develops software for the entertainment and event industry. One of the products was even used at the 2024 Olympic Games. Although it has become the subsidiary of a big group, the entrepreneurial spirit is still alive. We are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) to expand their versatile and friendly team.

Your tasks:

  • Operating, monitoring and continuously optimizing applications and services across various environments
  • Building, maintaining and continuously enhancing monitoring, alerting and observability concepts (e.g. dashboards, metrics, log analysis and tracing)
  • Operating and further developing the container and Kubernetes landscape (Docker, Kubernetes) as well as the cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, Load Balancers)
  • Building, maintaining and troubleshooting GitLab CI/CD workflows (pipelines, stages, jobs, runners, artifacts and environments) and automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu)
  • Troubleshooting across the entire stack: GitLab CI/CD → Build → Container → Kubernetes → Infrastructure → Network → Application
  • Conducting performance analyses and deriving technical measures to improve stability and efficiency
  • Enhancing and automating existing operations and support processes, as well as creating and maintaining related documentation and runbooks
  • Taking technical ownership of applications, configurations, monitoring stacks and DevOps tools within the operations environment
  • Contributing to projects focused on automation, efficiency improvements and the introduction of new technologies (e.g. GitOps with Argo CD/Flux, Helm)

Your profile:

  • At least 3 years of experience in application operations, DevOps, or cloud/platform engineering, with a proven ability to independently handle operational topics and production issues
  • Strong Kubernetes experience (workloads, services, ingress, RBAC, configuration, storage, resource management, troubleshooting) as well as Docker expertise (Dockerfiles, image builds, registries, container networking)
  • Very good Linux knowledge (processes, systemd, permissions, file systems, logs, troubleshooting) and solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, routing, ports, load balancing)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu)
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD with hands-on experience, ideally with GitLab CI/CD (pipelines, runners, artifacts, caching, variables, environments, reusable configurations)
  • Cloud experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, Load Balancers)
  • Strong scripting and automation skills: excellent Bash knowledge as well as Python and/or PowerShell
  • Confident use of Git (branching, merge requests, rebasing/merging, conflict resolution)
  • Nice to have: Ansible, Helm, GitOps (Argo CD/Flux), observability (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, centralized logging), C#/.NET, Go, SQL/database fundamentals, SLI/SLO and reliability concepts, security and vulnerability scanning
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and stay well organized in a dynamic operations environment
  • Independent and structured working style, strong analytical thinking, and a drive to continuously improve systems and processes
  • Very good command of English

Minimum salary:

The offered salary is € 75,000 p. a. or more, depending on the candidate’s professional background.
