Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

The company we work for successfully develops software for the entertainment and event industry. One of the products was even used at the 2024 Olympic Games. Although it has become the subsidiary of a big group, the enterpreneurial spirit is still alive. We are currently looking for an Senior DevOps Manager (m/f/d) to expand their versatile and friendly team.

Your tasks:

  • Operate, monitor, and continuously optimize applications and services across multiple environments.
  • Design, maintain, and further develop monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions (e.g. dashboards, metrics, log analysis, and distributed tracing).
  • Operate and enhance the containerization and virtualization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, KVM/QEMU).
  • Maintain and expand CI/CD pipelines and build systems while automating infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Perform performance analyses and derive technical measures to improve system stability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously improve and automate existing operations and support processes, including the creation and maintenance of related technical documentation.
  • Take technical ownership of applications, configurations, monitoring stacks, and DevOps tooling within the operations environment.
  • Contribute to projects focused on automation, operational efficiency, and the introduction of new technologies.

Your profile:

  • Professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, Application Engineer, or Operations Engineer.
  • At least 3 years of experience in application operations, DevOps, or systems-level software engineering.
  • Strong Linux administration skills, including networking, system integration, and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell), as well as confidence working in Windows environments.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, KVM/QEMU) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), as well as build systems such as Make, Gradle, and Maven.
  • Solid experience with monitoring, observability, log analysis, and performance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and ideally initial experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and common collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and requirements analysis.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a dynamic operations environment.
  • Self-driven, structured working style with strong analytical skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Fluent in English, skills in German are nice to have.
