Configuration Manager (m/f/d)

The history of this company dates back deep into the 19th century. Today, the group is one of the leading insurance groups in Austria as well as Central and Eastern Europe. This requires strong IT — and you in the role of Configuration Manager (m/f/d).

Your tasks:

  • End-to-end functional responsibility for IT Configuration Management, including governance and the continuous improvement of processes
  • Design, operation, and ongoing development of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Driving the strategic development of IT Service Management with a focus on CMDB integration and service transparency
  • Senior leadership role in the local CMDB rollout (data model, data quality, automation, reporting)
  • Implementation and sustainable establishment of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • Close collaboration with Business Application Owners, definition of service trees, and mapping of infrastructure through service mapping
  • Ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and quality of all configuration items
  • Definition and establishment of configuration policies, standards, and processes in line with ITIL
  • Coordination and management of international interfaces (service owners, providers, global IT teams)
  • Acting as a sparring partner for central IT asset management and other stakeholders on configuration management best practices
  • Close collaboration with Change Management, Incident Management, and the Service Desk
  • Conducting audits and reviews, identifying deviations, and initiating corrective actions
  • Training and advising IT teams on configuration management methods and standards

Your profile:

  • Completed studies in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable qualification
  • Solid knowledge of the ITIL framework, ideally with certification
  • Several years of professional experience in Configuration Management within medium to large IT environments
  • Experience in IT Asset Management and the interaction between asset and configuration data
  • Practical experience with CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and process-focused way of working
  • Excellent communication skills, including in international setups
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Experience in ITSM-related projects, particularly regarding automation and tool integration
  • Confidence in handling audits and enforcing process compliance

Minimum salary:

The minimum annual salary is €80,000; a higher salary is possible depending on the candidate’s background.
